Milestone! And Preparation.

It's official, we just hit 666 views!

Well done, everyone. This was a group effort. You're all beautiful.

I other news, I played my first game with 7th (6th) Ed Chaos Space Marines tonight against a Deathwing army with some Ravenwing thrown in for fun.

Needless to say, I got destroyed. We only got 3 turns in before the store had to close, but it did not look good for the ruinous powers. I'm pretty sure in all the rush and confusion of trying to squeeze the game in, I forgot a bunch of my special Chaos bits and pieces like forgetting to boon-up my Daemon Prince.

It was all a bit of fun though, and I'm looking forward to figuring out a stronger list and then some nice tactics.

Basically the army I took

Here's the list:

Daemon Prince
- Mark of Tzeentch
- Power Armour
- Master Level 2

Lord
- Terminator Armour
- Mark of Khorne

Chaos Space Marines x10
- Champion w:
  - Power Fist
  - Plasma Pistol
- Plasma Gun
- Heavy Bolter
- Veterans of the Long War
- Icon of Vengeance
- Rhino
  - Havoc Launcher
  - Dozer Blade

Khorne Berzerkers x8
- 2x Chain Axe
- 2x Plasma Pistol
- Veterans of the Long War

Thousand Sons x9
- Straight out of the box

Predator
- Autocannon
- Lascannon Sponsons
- Dozer Blade

Vindicator
- Siege Shield

Maulerfiend
- Stock

1500 pts (ish)

Honestly, I don't think this is at all a competitive list. It's not even very fluffy to tell the truth. I'm going for an Iron Warriors theme, so I want lots of tanks and Daemon Engines, as well as a Warpsmith to keep them alive.

I think in the future I'm going to take a second unit of CSM and drop either the 'zerkers or the Thousand Sons. I like the Maulerfiend, though I didn't use him properly at all last night.

I think I need to sit down and really give the Codex a good read before using this army again. It has lots of nice tricks in it, it's just a matter of figuring them out.

Have you ever gone into a battle completely unprepared?
How did it go?
