Location, Location: How To Terrain

Oh, hello. I didn't see you there.

A couple of posts ago, I talked about the shooting phase and how it is perceived as OP. One of the things I touched on was terrain, and how it can be an important part of the wargaming experience. Well, today I want to look at that idea in a little more detail, as well as hopefully give you a couple of ideas for your own terrain collection.

Staying Motivated... Ugh

Hey there, filthy corpse worshippers. Today I want to talk about the age-old problem of waining hobby motivation and the scourge of hobby ADD.

Case in point

I've been playing Warhammer 40k since 1999. That's a whopping sixteen years! How many completely painted armies do I have to show for it? One. 1. Uno. That would be my Chaos Space Marine army. My Iron Warriors. And that army isn't even valid any more. My main army, the one I love and hold dear to my heart is my Space Wolf Great Company. Even there, I don't have a painted, legal army (<-- You can check out what I have painted in the Gallery). On top of this, I have a Chaos Troll army in the works, as well as a metric shit-load of unpainted, unglued, High Elves, not to mention other games and projects that just won't ever see completion.

Close Combat and You: Fist-Fighting in the Far Future

With a crash and a rumble the Berzerker flipped the table, sending mugs of Blood-Ale flying across the room.

"What a load of crap! How the hell am I supposed to see any fights now that shooting is so damned powerful!? Curse you Khorne! I'm off to become a Plague Marine."

Lord Manton here and today I want to ask whether shooting really is OP; and if it is, is that such a bad thing?
